By now, you’ve probably seen the message that went viral on WhatsApp, a notice from the Ministry of Health (KKM) instructing the mandatory closure of the Shopee Warehouse in Shah Alam at the Mapletree Logistics Hub, from 9 July until 16 July 2021.
The notice of closure by the Malaysia Ministry of Health (KKM) is genuine, but Shopee claims that they are unrelated to the allegations of COVID-19 cases, and issued a statement of denial recently, misleading and tenuous at best. It should be noted that in the very same statement, Shopee has omitted from confirming nor denying the alleged COVID-19 cases, or whether any of their employees recently tested positive for COVID-19.

While Shopee is assuring everyone that their platform is operating per business as usual, they had since admitted that there will be delays for deliveries via our warehouse — and reliable sources have informed us that the old adage of there’s no smoke without fire rings well and true in this case.
Refrain from ordering via this platform for the time being, or … if you’re expecting a delivery from them anytime soon, always exercise prudence and sanitize your parcel(s) at the time of receipt!
